Paradox IT Ltd (company number 07772297), registered office Sandbrook House, Sandbrook Way, Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England, OL11 1RY ("we", "us", "our"), is the data controller for personal data collected through www.paradoxit.co.uk (the "Site").This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
1. What information we collect
We collect two kinds of information:
Information you give us directly. The Site does not currently use web contact forms. If you get in touch by email or by phone, we collect whatever you choose to share - typically your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your enquiry.
Information collected automatically via cookies and similar technologies. When you visit the Site, we (and our analytics and other tracking providers) may automatically collect technical and usage data, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and how you interact with the Site. Section 5 explains this in more detail.
2. How we use your information and our legal basis
Purpose: Responding to your enquiry (by email or phone).
What we use: Name, contact details, enquiry content
Legal basis under UK GDPR: Legitimate interests — dealing with enquiries you've initiated.
Purpose: Understanding and improving how the Site is used.
What we use: Analytics/usage data via cookies.
Legal basis under UK GDPR: Consent (obtained via our cookie banner).
Purpose: Any other tracking technologies in use on the Site (e.g. chat widgets, embedded content, advertising pixels).
What we use: Usage/interaction data via cookies.
Legal basis under UK GDPR: Consent (obtained via our cookie banner), except where strictly necessary for the Site to function.
We do not send marketing emails or newsletters. We only use your contact details to reply to the enquiry you sent us. We will not use your details for any other purpose without asking you first.
We are the sole owners of the personal data we collect through the Site. We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
3. Who we share your information with
We share personal data only with:
Service providers ("processors") who help us run the Site and our business - for example our website hosting provider, email provider, and analytics/tracking providers referred to in Section 5. These providers only process data on our instructions and are contractually required to keep it secure.
Regulators, law enforcement, or professional advisers, where we are legally required to, or where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.
We do not share your personal data with any other third party for their own marketing purposes.
International transfers. Some of our service providers (for example, analytics providers such as Google) may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we ensure an appropriate safeguard is in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or that the destination country has been assessed as offering adequate protection.
4. How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry correspondence (emails/phone notes) for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with your enquiry and for a limited period afterwards in case you get back in touch or for our legal/accounting record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Analytics data collected via cookies is retained only for the period set out in the relevant cookie's expiry (see Section 5) or our analytics provider's default retention settings.
5. Cookies and tracking technologies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies, including analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) and other tracking technologies (for example, any chat widget or embedded third party content in use on the Site).
Strictly necessary cookies - required for the Site to function. These don't require consent.
Analytics cookies - help us understand how visitors use the Site, so we can improve it.
Functionality/other tracking technologies - support features such as chat widgets or embedded content from third party platforms.
Except for strictly necessary cookies, we only set these after you give consent via the cookie banner shown when you first visit the Site. You can change your preferences at any time, either through the cookie settings link on the Site or through your browser settings, and you can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it.
6. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration, both online and offline. Access to personal data is limited to those who need it to do their job, and where sensitive information is transmitted online it is protected using encryption.
7. Children
The Site is intended for a business audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Erasure of your data in certain circumstances;
- Restriction of how we use your data in certain circumstances;
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- Data portability, where applicable;
- Withdraw consent at any time, where our processing is based on consent (e.g. analytics cookies), without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
